New Heights offers independent speech and language assessment and therapy for children aged 0-11 at home or in their nursery/ school. We are based in Huddersfield (HD7) and cover the surrounding areas such as Holmfirth and Halifax. Teletherapy (appointments via video) can also be offered upon request.
As an independent practice we can provide timely input with your child. We understand early intervention is key in supporting speech, language and communication difficulties, especially in the early years.
The partnership between parents and therapist is crucial to our work. Goals are jointly decided, ensuring effective, tailored intervention which is relevant to your little learner. If your child is in an education setting we can also work closely with them.
If your child also has a NHS therapist we can work alongside them to provide the best consistent intervention for your child. Independent therapy is as well as NHS, not instead of, so you won't lose your NHS service place.

SOCIAL COMMUNICATION DIFFICULTIES / AUTISM
Your child may have a diagnosis of autism, or you may be wondering about autism. Either way we can work with you and support your child. We work with Gestalt Language Processors.
TALKING
Late talkers, difficulties joining words together and difficulties with their narrative and story telling skills.
UNDERSTANDING
Difficulty with understanding of spoken language, following instructions and answering questions including ‘who’ and ‘why’.
SPEECH SOUNDS
Unclear speech including difficulties saying certain sounds.
